Book Signing!

I'll be at Old Trail School, nestled in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, this Saturday, March 22, from 10 to 1 for a book signing at the indoor farmer's market. I love, love, love farmer's markets! I plan on purchasing some ground bison, some delicious handmade croissants, and whatever else strikes my fancy! Oh, and I'll be signing books, too. Drop by and say hi!

Book Signing!

If you're in the neighborhood on Saturday, February 9th, stop by the Old Trail School on Ira Road in Cuyahoga Valley National Park for the indoor farmer's market. The market runs from 9 AM to noon, with lots of terrific vendors, and I'll be there, too, signing books!

I'll most likely have my drop spindle with me, getting some spinning in when not signing all those books : )

Another book signing coming up!

I'll be signing books at the Countryside Conservancy's Howe Meadow farmer's market in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on Saturday, August 18th from 9 AM to Noon.

I'll be bringing my drop spindles again and hopefully some of my Japanese indigo-dyed fiber to spin. If you're in the area, drop by, the market is terrific! I'll be buying up a lot of what's for sale, as usual : )

Successful book signing at the indoor farmer's market

My book signing at the indoor farmer's market yesterday was fun. I brought my drop-spindle along with a finished skein of yarn to show anyone who was interested in my spinning.

I ended up selling not only several books, but my finished skein of yarn, too! I also got to eat a warm breakfast pie from the Gaelic Imports table, and I brought home some ground bison from the man who sells pasture-raised, grass-fed bison, and made a big pot of bison chili for dinner last night. Yum!

Selling books at The Crooked River Fiber Fling

Over the weekend my daughter and I sold our wares at The Crooked River Fiber Fling in Peninsula, Ohio. It was a hot and muggy weekend, but it was a lot of fun.

We sold my handspun yarns and hand-dyed rovings, displayed various fibers that spinners spin, and gave combing, carding, and spinning demonstrations. Here's our vendor booth - I was The Roving Spinner:

Of course, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring my books along, a few of my salves, and my poison ivy itch relief spray. Here we are on the second day, taking a lunch break behind all of our non-fiber wares:

We had a great time talking with people about processing fiber and spinning, and my daughter was a great help. We sold quite a bit of everything, even books!

On the last day of the Fiber Fling, the last set of musicians who played over at the live music tent did a shout out for Linda over at The Roving Spinner. They played one of my favorite songs - Marie's Wedding. They had all come over to our tent earlier to ask all about processing fibers and spinning, and when they said they played Celtic music, I had asked if they knew that song. It was so fun to hear them play it for me!

Farmers' market book signing

I attended a book signing yesterday, sponsored by the Akron Manuscript Club, the oldest writing group in Akron at almost 80 years old.

It was hard to sit at the table the whole time and not walk around the farmers' market where the signing took place.



I did manage to step away a couple of times to make a few purchases. I bought home baked cookies and lemon-blueberry scones, honey-blueberry jam, and a tie-dyed T-shirt, the proceeds of which are going toward a high schooler's trip to China with the Confucius Institute.

Needless to say, I spent more than I made selling books : ) But that's not hard for me to do at a venue like this.
